Main Services
Seafarers Recruitment & Placement
Fair Play Maritime operates in full compliance with the Maritime Labour Convention requirements.
On the recruitment side, we carefully assess the possibility of cooperation with all applicant seafarers joining our pool, verifying their knowledge, experience, certification, travel documents, and health condition. Furthermore, we identify whether the candidates have the right mindset and are suitably motivated to perform according to the job conditions offered. They are then matched to vessel specifications and trading areas based on the Principal’s requirements, ensuring full compliance with specific procedures and operational standards.
We use our skills and experience to perform our tasks in a fair and friendly manner, providing feedback to applicants. When certain shortcomings are identified, we seek ways to improve and communicate these areas for development.
Similarly, on the placement side, during and upon completion of each seafarer’s tenure, based on performance reports as well as their feedback, we draw conclusions together and, when appropriate, identify ways to improve future cooperation. Proper communication and handling of all arising matters are key ingredients to our success.
Our agency maintains an excellent record regarding seafarer joining and sign-off arrangements, carried out in a timely, safe, and cost-efficient manner, in line with our “zero failure” commitment.
Cadet tuition & Trainee Programs
An important part of our activity is supporting cadets in building their future careers. We maintain a permanent relationship with universities providing higher maritime education for future officers and engineers, and we actively support the development of deck and engine cadets, as well as trainees in various departments. Selection is conducted annually, either by our team or in collaboration with Principal representatives.
Throughout our more than 25 years of activity, a large number of currently active Romanian officers and engineers have started their careers with Fair Play Maritime. Over 90% of our trainees successfully advance to officer or engineer positions, mostly on specialized vessels such as tankers, gas carriers, and Ro-Ros.
Diversity & Inclusion
Well aware that seafaring is multicultural and a historically male gender dominated activity, we strongly support diversity and inclusion among seafarers, offering opportunities with our Clients for female willing to commence and develop a seafaring career, as well employing experienced female officers / engineers onboard the existing fleets.
Crew Accounting
In full compliance with the MLC requirements, connected with the Clients designated departments, we manage individual accounts for all assigned seafarers. Upon request by the Client, we can arrange remittance of allotments and expenses directly to crew members’ local bank accounts, ensuring transparency and timely payments.
